Terry Kennedy Appointed as Queensland Paralympic Coach
Terry Kennedy, newly appointed Queensland Paralympic Football Coach, says that giving his players more confidence is the key to winning this year’s Paralympic Football Nationals in Adelaide.

Queensland will go into the Nationals favourite after just being tipped at the post by NSW last year. “This year we have the re- emergence of David Barber, Beau Menzies, Scott Kennedy and Jarod Larkins as well as a number of other talented young Paralympic Players” he said.
Terry, The Sport Manager at Frenchville Football Club, comes to the position with a wealth of football Knowledge. Terry played for the Brisbane Lions in the Queensland State League in the 70’s and was talented enough to be chosen to trial at Tranmere Rovers in Liverpool, England.
Terry has been coaching since 1975 and holds his Football Federation Australia C Licence as well as the Community Senior Licence. He has been involved with the development of a number of South East and Central Queensland able bodied representative sides. He now brings that wealth of experience to Paralympic Football in far north Queensland.
When asked about his coaching philosophy about coaching elite players with a disability Terry replied “l treat my Paralympic Footballers just like any other players”.
“I’m just very lucky to have a great job at Frenchville Football Club that supports Paralympic Football. They provide financial support and give me time off for Football commitments” he said.
Terry has been working as Sport Manager at Frenchville for some time now and has the sole responsibility of organising sport for the club. The Club is a non- profit organisation which pours all profits back into community sport including sport for people with a disability such as wheelchair basketball and football.
The club and Terry just recently organised a Frenchville Six-aside Tournament that was attended by some of the best football sides in North Queensland. With prize money on offer the tournament was a huge success attracting hundreds of spectators each day.
